My favourite forums included the forum at Shine Dome, which centred around how the public treats science and how we are to deal with the Australian Identity in Science, and the forum at John Curtin school of Medical Research, which centred around ethics in science and scientists. By and large my favourite talks were Dr Erica Sloan's speech on how to survive in the new world of science, and the speech on Climate Change by multiple speakers, including Thomas Sloan. Dinners were excellent, and I especially enjoyed the rotary dinner where I introduced Dr Erica Sloan. My favourite experience of the entire trip was meeting Dr Erica Sloan. She is an excellent scientist and With Dr Erica Sloan speaker, and it amazes me that this program allowed me to stay in contact with such a prestigious scientist. My personal down time included hanging out with the many friends I made on NYSF, communal lunches, the rotary home hospitality (for which I had Adam De Toth) and a trip to the swimming pool for cooling down. I intend to stay in contact with all I can. We regularly have skype calls and update each other on what we are doing. I know that these friendships have been made for life. Some of the many friends I made In ten years from now I would love to be conducting research in a lab somewhere around the world. My passion is Chemistry, and I would love to combine this with both Physics and Biology. I feel as if I would like to do research into either energy or medical problems, however this may be subject to change. Rotary Club of Northlakes Toukley Page 7
