Q & A: Seven girls are vying to be crowned as Royal Ambassadors
What is your favorite place or thing to do in Monticello?
Arya: I love swimming and running out at Bertram Park.
Avarie: Culver’ s would have to be my top spot. I go there at least once a week with my friends from church and school. What can I say? A girl loves her frozen custard!
Ella: My favorite place in Monticello is Monti Hill because the view is beautiful and I love the trails.
Lily: My favorite thing to do is visit the farmers market, because I love seeing and buying from the vendors there.
Ruby: My favorite thing to do in Monticello is go to Bertram. It is absolutely gorgeous and there are multiple fun things to do there like hiking trails or going swimming.
Sadie: Definitely the movie theater! I’ m a big movie buff, so I love going to see new releases
and just getting lost in the story. It’ s my favorite way to relax and have fun. It’ s also a huge plus if it’ s a new Marvel movie!
Veronica: My favorite thing to do in town is to just be outside with my family and friends.
What’ s your favorite food?
Arya: Shrimp scampi because I love pasta and seafood, and my mom makes the best shrimp scampi.
Avarie: I love Asian food, Thai food, any noodles, burgers, soups. As long as it’ s not cottage cheese or olives, I’ d eat it all.
Ella: Chicken broccoli alfredo because it has all of the best things: Pasta, chicken and broccoli. It’ s also a little lighter, so I can eat more without feeling stuffed.
Lily: Pancakes, because my grandma always made them perfectly when I was younger.
Ruby: My favorite food is caramel rolls because I get to make them with my Mom every year on my birthday and they remind me of spending time with the people I care about.
Sadie: Red-sauce pasta, for sure! It’ s just a comfort food. I love how simple and easy it is to make, and if you add some garlic bread on the side it makes it 10 times better.
Veronica: My favorite is ice cream because it’ s really good!
What are you the most passionate about?
Arya: I am most passionate about the sports and activities I am in. I put a lot of effort and hard work into the things I partake in.
Avarie: I’ m most passionate about being creative. I love to write and make music, and I love to do anything with art.
Ella: The books I read. I really like dystopian books, so I like making connections and expanding my views on things.
Lily: Acceptance. You shouldn’ t judge someone by the way they look or act, because you never know what they are going through on their own time.
Ruby: I am really passionate about giving back and volunteering in my day-to-day life. My goal since I was young has been to find a way to give back to my community and I have been successful in that so far.
Sadie: I’ m very passionate about writing. It’ s something I’ ve loved since I was little. I enjoy being able to create my own world and get lost in it. One of the best parts is adding all the little details. It’ s fun to take the time to think everything through, especially knowing it all came from my imagination.
Veronica: I’ m most passionate about being the best version of myself. Whether it’ s in school, sports, or just being a
good friend, I always try to be someone others can look up to.
What do you do for fun?
Arya: I read books, write stories and poems, run, sing, and do art like drawing and painting.
Avarie: I like to hang out with my friends, read books, listen to music, play hockey and cook.
Ella: I like to read, write, draw, paint and play my flute for fun, and I always have music on.
Lily: I like to spend time and talk with my friends and family.
Ruby: I like to spend my free time baking for family members and trying out new recipes or being involved in the theater program at the high school.
Sadie: I love spending time with my friends and playing lacrosse. I don’ t play with them, but hanging out and catching up is always fun, and lacrosse is a great way for me to stay active and do something I enjoy.
