you like a good story deception, secrets, and jealousy this is the story for you. amazing first read by this author, and an amazing leap into a new genre. I recommend this book to those women who need a quick erotic fix.
Women’ s Voices by Rebekah S. Cole
This was the first book I ' ve read by this author so I looked forward to something different. The title came from a phrase used by one of the characters in the book when the women started talking and yelling above the other. Using women ' s voices meant to calm down and talk lady-like. I can say that that ' s exactly how I live my life. I must admit when I first saw the cover, there was no interest to read until I read the synopsis and it caught my attention. The cover could use more depth to attract new readers.
The story was a slow to steady flow and I didn ' t catch any editing issues. There were no mix up of names between characters or misused words. Big Ups to Author. I went through all type of emotions while reading this story and realizing the reality of it all. Truth of the matter is abuse is happening in many relationships and people hide it due to shame and fear. I loved that the Author created this Fictional story to allow readers to see that everyone has some type of secret.
The main plot was centered around characters Jonetta and her three daughters Phyllis, Colette, and Dawn. When I first started reading the character, I despised Jonetta because of how negative she was towards her daughters instead of giving love, support, and positivity. Her middle daughter, Colette, had 4 children from her abusive husband Owen, and was expecting again. Phyllis and her husband, Damien, were relocating when Phyllis discovered a pattern in his spending. Dawn was living the fast life as a model while her boyfriend, Vine, preferred the laid back café life. Behind it all, Jonetta was keeping a secret that she ' d possessed since childhood. All the characters balanced out because they were a family, all living different lives, yet very much needed. There were no unanswered questions and no holes in the plot. This book was well written with a great message. If
Circle of Dominance by Serenity
Initially, seeing the cover, and reading the synopsis, I was extremely put off because the cover and synopsis do not match one another. This was a slow read for me, but it needed to be. Though it took some time to get into the main plot of the story because of the many characters, once the introductions were over, it was easy to get into the story and identify with some of the characters.
Reading the first chapters, I was very impressed by the editing, and how there had been no name discrepancies. Switching back and forth between so many characters can be difficult, but the author does a great job of staying on the right person’ s character in each chapter. Though this was an erotic read, the sex scenes weren’ t long and drawn out, and still gave enough description and feeling to make you want to be the characters.
My favorite character was Malcolm because I loved the way he was constantly observing Kim. He was extremely in tuned with the things she liked, and the things she wanted, both inside their bedroom, and outside. Juan, Connor, Malcolm, Dennis, Brad, and Tremaine take you on a sexual voyage with their bedroom play, but they give you a lot of what’ s going on in the real world. With the author being a woman, it was unexpected for the male characters to actually be like men, and not how a woman perceived them. This novel was written in first person and the author did a great job of using the proper tenses with little to no errors in the editing.
For such an exotic read, there were still a lot of very realistic moments to cleave to. I am not an Exotica fan, but I may just be now. This was an
One Taste Just Ain’ t Enough by Chase Monet
The cover was an OMG moment. It cover shouldn ' t be used to describe the story because this book was way more than that. Great cover. No deceptions there. The forbidden love of a woman that was off limits and a man that was way off limits.
This timeline went from hating one another to loving each other. Now on the other side of the country, we have a self proclaimed playa. And when I say playa I ' m talking to the point of which he possessed rules that he goes by in order to keep all his women in line. With the passion and fire that is brewing between these two lovers, they know that it cant go any farther because many will be hurt and some will not understand or approve, including a brother. The interactions between the characters provided ease while reading the story. Each character was given a proper introduction in the novel and had a reason of why they were in the novel. As you continue to read, you see what they contributed to the plot.
Ease of flow, character introductions, conflicts, and fast pace lead this to a great story. The beginning lagged a bit but I don ' t how else it should ' ve started. The ending left a cliffhanger, signaling that there will be a part 2 to this novel. Book 1 completed itself and left the foundation for book 2. I can ' t wait. I would recommend this book for anyone that wants a solid foundation, limited characters, great character interactions, and a lot of spice.
