Regiment Annual Fitness Test ( RAFT-R )
At the end of your Phase 2 training you will perform the Regiment Annual Fitness . It will also be carried out for each subsequent year of service . This is an outdoor test , usually on a sports field , where you will be wearing combat clothing and various levels of combat equipment depending on which part of the test you are conducting . There are no different standards relating to age or gender for the entire test .
Part 1 : Patrol Action
Stage 1 You will be carrying a total of 32kg , which is made up of webbing , helmet , body armour , rifle , daysack and bergen ( rucksack ). As a team you will march 4km in a maximum of 60 minutes .
Stage 2 Once this is complete , you will have a short break of approximately 5 minutes , then you will remove the bergen ( rucksack ), leaving you with 20kg . You will then cover 2km as an individual in no more than 19 minutes ( 18 minutes for every subsequent year of service ).
