EVENTS Other Events 2016 CEO TED Sessions @ Monash University Malaysia: In the Trenches with DNA’s Digerati50 Three technology Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) shared their experiences in the world of entrepreneurship. In collaboration with Digital News Asia’s (DNA) Digerati 50, Monash welcomed three successful CEOs on 16 March 2016 for its inaugural ‘On the Edge Talks’ to share their entrepreneurship journey to the top, using the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) talk format which is in the form of short (18 minutes or less) powerful talks. The three CEOs were Puan Chan Cheong, also known as CC Puan (founder and CEO of Green Packet Berhad and Packet One Networks Sdn Bhd), Jeffri Cheong (co- founder of Kaodim), and Matt Chandran (CEO of IGene Sdn Bhd), shared their personal journey to the top. These top Digerati CEOs have established their companies and attracted millions of ringgit in revenue and funding. From the talk, it was easy to surmise that all three CEOs had one thing in common - determination! They had dreams, and giving up was never an option for them. Even when faced with difficulties, they rose to the challenge and fought to be where they are today. From humble beginnings to leaders of the nation’s technology, these men have proven that if you set your mind to doing something, you have to follow through. Failure is never an option! In line with technology, participants were given the option of downloading the Slido application on their phones and tablets, an online Q&A platform, to post questions to the visiting CEOs. On the Edge Talks @ Monash University Malaysia (2nd Series) ‘Putting Malaysia at the Heart of Global Supply Chains’ by Professor Jan Godsell Over the last five years, supply chains (SC) have increasingly been cited as a reason for corporate success or failure. It is also a term that politicians and policy makers have tentatively begun to adopt. But what is the SC? This talk covered SC and discussed how Malaysia fully understands and exploits the opportunities that being part of a network of global supply chains presents.
