TRAIN EAT LEARN WORK TRENDING AGE OF ACTIVITY 1 In David Lloyd Clubs’ Age of Activity study, 69% of those who exercised said they did so ‘to be healthy’; 45% felt better health was also the main impact exercise had had on their life, with 21% saying it helped their medical condition. 29% of exercisers said the main benefit of activity was the way it made them feel ‘more positive’. “There is lots of research to support the benefits of older adults participating not only in regular cardiovascular exercise, but also strength training at least twice a week,” says David Lloyd Clubs’ Marie Graham. “After the age of 60, we lose approximately 3% of our muscle mass and associated strength every year. The Ring Fit Adventure, released for their Switch device, is linked to a tough but bendable plastic ring, the size of a steering wheel.
