Description :
Every year hundreds of people gather in many Spanish cities -and also in Latin America- to protest against October 12th ( National Day of Spain ). These demonstrations are attended by many groups that defend anti-racist and anti-fascist positions and defend the rights of indigenous people and migrants . Although some rallies have been documented in Spain since 1886 , the 1992 demonstrations are particularly relevant in the consolidation of this practice . That year , the platform “ Desenmascaremos 1992 ” organised anti-racist and anti-capitalist collectives in a union of struggles against the 5th centenary [ of the discovery of the Americas ], but also against speculative projects such as the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games or the construction of high-speed train lines ( AVE ). This demonstration is specifically developed in another entry . The anti-October 12th demonstrations have been taking place every year in different cities in Spain until the present day , and have become more important during the last decade .
