3 . Study Results and Conclusions
3.1 General result
The initiatives compiled add up to 46 , although some of the entries include one or several initiatives around the same issue , so the number is higher . For example , the section on the nationality of the Sahrawi people includes up to three Proposals of Non-binding Resolution ( PNL ), and the sections related to the anti-October 12th demonstrations cover 30 years of concentrations in different cities . For this reason , we have avoided establishing chronological classification criteria and we have decided to group the initiatives according to their subject matter and purpose .
From a quantitative perspective , we observed a balance in categories 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 , although the mobilisation and protest actions are , undoubtedly , the most numerous . This is especially notable when we consider that some entries refer to multiple protests , and these actions tend to act as a driving force of other initiatives .
It is important to highlight the relative lack of relevance of the subject of restitutions . However , it is important to mention that the 2022 announcement of the possible creation of a board of experts for the decolonisation of museums and the study of the legitimacy of colonial heritage , proposed by the Ministry of Culture but not yet established or developed , could lead to an increase in demands and initiatives in the years to come .
As regards hate crimes , it is important to bear in mind that our collection was limited to state legislation , without considering regional or municipal adaptations , which could have exaggerated this category .
