3.6.2 Prerogatives : Members of this category may : a .

c . attend Medical Staff , department , and section meetings and any Medical Staff or hospital education programs ;
not vote on matters presented by the Medical Staff ( section , department , MEC or entire Medical Staff ) or be an officer of the Medical Staff ;
serve on Medical Staff committees , but may not vote on matters that come before such committees ;
d . visit patients in the hospital ; e . f . review medical records for patients admitted in the hospital ; and
write non-codable progress notes or consultation notes within delineation of privileges .

Responsibilities : |

Must comply with all Bylaws , Medical staff policies and procedures . |

Limitations : |
Members in this category may not : |
a . |
admit or discharge patients in the hospital ; |
b . |
assist in surgeries or procedures ; |
c . hold office or vote as a member of the Medical Staff on issues presented to the Medical Staff for vote ; and
3.7 Locum Tenens
d . write orders .
The CEO , CMO , or VPMA , upon recommendation of the Chief of Staff , may grant temporary privileges ( admitting and treatment ) to an individual serving as a locum tenens for a member of the Medical Staff who is on vacation , attending an educational seminar , ill , and / or otherwise needs coverage assistance for a period of time ; or , when necessary to prevent a lack or lapse of services in a needed specialty area under the following conditions :
a . the applicant has submitted a complete application , along with the application fee ; b . the verification process is complete , including verification of current licensure , relevant training or experience , current competence ( verification of good standing in all hospitals
