Mind (Cont’d) As a strong wind sweeps away a boat on the water, even one of the roaming senses on which the mind focuses can carry away a man’s intelligence. - BG 2:67 - Mind is the center of all the activities of the senses, and thus when we hear about sense objects the mind generally becomes a reservoir of all ideas of sense gratification; and, as a result, the mind and the senses become the repositories of lust. - BG 3:40, purport - Just fix your mind upon Me, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and engage all your intelligence in Me. Thus you will live in Me always, without a doubt. - BG 12:8 - The nature of the mind is flickering and unsteady. But a self-real- ized yogé has to control the mind; the mind should not control him. One who controls the mind (and therefore the senses as well) is called gosvämé, or svämé, and one who is controlled by the mind is called go-däsa, or the servant of the senses. - BG 6:26, purport - - 92 -
