GT The first application which comes to mind when large inline single hooks are mentioned is GT fishing or casting large lures for other reef dwelling species. The Zerek Thermite Popper comes fitted with two trebles that I swap out for two 7/0 Mustad Kaiju Inline Single. The rear hook I run straight to a split ring but the front hook I run as an assist hook, with 200lb assist cord, straight from the swivel at the front of the lure. This gives me a straight-through connection from leader to hook, when combined with a single inline hook this gives me a greater chance at staying connected as I feel the singles, once engaged, are less likely to pull. stick baits, this is where trial and error are paramount to ensure you know what the different hook set ups can do to the action of your chosen lure. The Zerek Zappelin in both 160mm and 220mm are well suited to a few different styles of hook setup without sacrificing any of the action. My preferred set up for the 220mm Zappelin is two 8/0 Mustad Kaiju Inline Single on both the front and rear. I also set up with a treble on the belly and 8/0 Mustad Kaiju Inline Single on the rear. One thing to note is the belly treble setup is great for a sweeping style action.
