Cornerstone # 1: Our People
GOAL: Create famous people. We can go from good to great by becoming famous for skills that differentiate us from others in the firm and in our markets.
As the first and most important cornerstone of The Rea Advantage, it’ s absolutely critical that we continue to invest in our people, and that our employees invest in themselves, if we want to strengthen our firm and the service we provide to our clients.
Each employee has been tasked to declare what they want to be famous for. Why? When our people are famous in certain areas or specialties, we’ re able to attract more awesome clients and talented people to join our team.
Many of us knew right away what we want to be famous for. Others are still working through that – but what’ s great is that The Rea Advantage has got us thinking about what we want to do, who we want to work with and how we’ re going to do it.
We’ ve also made great headway on The Rea Academy, our new learning and development program that provides technical, leadership and soft skill training to employees.
Cornerstone # 2: Our Clients
GOAL: Build a bedrock of Rea 1000 clients. Rea can go from good to great by growing the firm and strengthening client relationships.
Rome wasn’ t built in a day and, similarly, our firm won’ t grow overnight. It takes patience and a measured approach. That’ s why this past year we’ ve carefully evaluated strategic growth opportunities – some we’ ve pursued, and others, while attractive, we’ ve left on the table.
One great example of how we put The Rea Advantage in motion was our recent merger with Chardon-based Friel & Associates. In addition to aligning with Rea’ s culture, what was most attractive to us about this firm was a large percentage of their client base were Rea 1000 clients. continued >
Ours is not one of those plans that sit on a
shelf collecting dust. The pages of our plan
are highlighted, scribbled on, earmarked,
coffee stained and broken in – signs that
The Rea Advantage is a living document
designed to drive our decisions and maintain
our focus on our wildly important goals.
