When I think about the Resurrection of Jesus our Christ, the first thing I must say is thank you Jesus. In my mind, I see Him facing the crowd looking them in the eyes as He suffered his destiny. It was important to Him they knew he was doing this for them. When he finally died, there was a worldly darkness like none that man had ever seen. Then, an unnatural light came into the world as He stepped out of the grave. His light was our salvation and empowerment to live as children of God.

As a person with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, I learned how to manage it by remembering the life of Jesus.

One thing for sure when the enemy is in action, time is of the essence. The devil is very calculative when plotting to kill and destroy. Emotions, events, themes of our lives have to be set up in such a way that his scheme is irreversible as we saw with Jesus’ journey to the cross.

Episodes of PTSD are very much like the steps leading to the crucifixion of Jesus. Great precision is used to bring certain feelings, events, thoughts, people and most-needed triggers of past traumas to crash into our current state of already existing struggles. It is much like being helplessly dragged to the cross to die. At this point in our experience, Jesus had yet died, so the episode has its way with us.

We suffer and often times wish to die. But something miraculously happens for those of us who have accepted Christ into our lives; Jesus has now stepped out of the grave to fill our being with the power and the light of His Resurrection. In that moment, we died to the episode of PTSD and then resurrected free from the takeover.
