GENDER + SEXUALITY
2017 is set to be a big year for
the Guild or more specifically the
Gender and Sexuality portfolio.
Taking over from Abigail Hill and
Bethany Fitzsimon, we are your
new Gender and Sexuality Vice
Presidents Isobella Powell and
Aenghas Hopkinson-Pearson.
We’re kicking off our year with International
Women’s Day on March 8th. Building
off last year, we will be bringing you an
opportunity to celebrate, with a variety of
women’s groups taking part in the day. If
that’s not enough to excite you than come
along and grab a snag, get keen!
Like last year, we’ll also be bringing you
Safe Sex Day to keep your sexy time, sexy.
In previous years Gender and Sexuality
have supported various charities such as
the A21 Campaign, Beyond Blue, Red
Cross and this year will be no different, we’ll
keep you updated with this and a few more
events over the year. Watch this space!
One of our primary goals for 2017 is to
ensure that QUT continues to be a safe
campus for all students to study. Last
year we pointed out several safety flaws
surrounding the new smoke-free QUT policy
and the potential risks of moving students
off campus, particularly during the night.
One of our goals for 2017 is to continue this
focus to ensure that QUT is a safe campus
for all students to come and learn.
