Support Group / District Support Team Newsletter
If there are any Support Group members or District Leaders who would like to receive the SG / DST newsletters, let me know your email address and I will forward them to you. I get the email addresses from the Annual General Meeting Report forms( QF. SG. 02 10) sent to the Support Centre. Alternatively, the newsletters are available from the GGQ website at www. guidesqld. org,‘ Support Us’( in the top bar),‘ Support Group / DST’.
Reminder
The following should have been attended to by now:
• Annual General Meeting paperwork to Region Leader
• District Fee paid to Support Centre
• Biscuit account paid to Support Centre
Girl Guides Queensland also complies with the Youth Worker requirements of The Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian, by requiring Leaders to obtain a Blue Card / Positive Notice. All GGQ Leaders complete a Keeping Children Safe orientation in relation to policies and procedures regarding the protection of children from abuse.
It is recommended that each Support Group member obtain a Blue Card / Positive Notice and complete a Keeping Children Safe training, to give the option to assist with Guide activities, camps and fundraising events when girls are present. Your District Leader can help you with forms and training opportunities.
Trainings
Please contact me if you would like a Support Group training held in your District or Region.
Child Protection
It is the policy of Girl Guides Queensland to safeguard the welfare and safety of its members while participating in Guiding activities. GGQ takes all reasonable steps to ensure that, through relevant procedures and training, children, young people and adults taking part in Guiding activities do so in a safe and friendly environment.
