Decolonising Cambridge

This term has been really exciting in terms of a discourse developing around ‘decolonising’ Cambridge. Decolonising in all senses – educationally, institutionally and physically. If you are interested please find out more on the ‘Decolonise Cambridge’ Facebook Page.
In Queens’ specifically we’ve had the privilege of hosting the launch of the Black Cantabs Project, which is a project that has been started by four incredible black women (current and former students) and alumna aiming to
“write the black students of this institution back into its history”. The project is about recovering the histories of black alumni at Cambridge and through recovering also reclaiming the physical spaces around the University – ie through displaying and celebrating the contributions and lives of these black alumni.
