On Monday 16th November, many of Queens' College got dressed up in their finest 'Retro' gear for a charity formal to remember! With costumes ranging from roller-skates to the Village People to that 'generic retro look', a fun evening was had by everyone. The food was excellent, the company thrilling, and the cheese and pineapple cocktail sticks, well, what more could one want from life?!
However, not only was it a wonderful evening off from work, but £537.67 was raised for charity! The evening also included the reveal of this year's charities. And they are:
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees: The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees.
Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre: Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre offers support to women and girls who have experienced or are experiencing rape, childhood sexual abuse or any form of sexual violence.
and Cambridge RAG and the 10 charities they support:
Local: Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre, Child Brain Injury Trust, Settle, FoodCycle Cambridge, Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT)
National/International: Médecins Sans Frontières, Save the Children, Children with Cancer UK, Freedom from Torture, Anti-Slavery International
