Texas A&M Endowment: A Legacy of Impact Through the PVF Roundtable

by Jamie Meade

One of the most meaningful ways the PVF Roundtable gives back to our industry is through education—and few initiatives reflect that commitment more than our longstanding endowment at Texas A&M University.

Established in 2010 by PVF Roundtable Hall of Fame Board Member Ron Merritt, the Texas A&M endowment stands as one of the organization’s oldest and most impactful scholarship funds. What began as a vision to support the next generation of industry professionals has grown into a lasting legacy that continues to shape careers and strengthen our workforce.

Since its inception, this endowment has helped support 122 students, providing financial assistance to those pursuing degrees that directly feed into the PVF and broader energy industries. These funds are specifically designated for full-time students enrolled in:

  • Engineering Technology

  • Industrial Distribution

  • These programs are critical pipelines for the talent that keeps our industry moving forward—equipping students with practical, hands-on skills and real-world knowledge that translate directly into careers in manufacturing, distribution, and energy.

The success of this endowment is a testament not only to its founder, but to the continued support of PVF Roundtable members and event sponsors. Every tournament, social, and fundraising effort contributes to opportunities like this—creating a direct line between our industry and the students who will one day lead it.

As we reflect on the impact—122 students and counting—we are reminded that the PVF Roundtable is more than a networking organization. It is a community committed to investing in people, education, and the future of our industry.

    And we’re just getting started.
