Rest Your Aching Feet Invited journalists were treated to a therapeutic “Sugar Foot Scrub” which included a towel cleansing and a Bon Vital lavender sugar scrub exfoliation from Massage Envy. The Spa at Regent Palms in Turks and Caicos offered an “Oriental Essence Foot Ceremony” which featured an exfoliating spiced marmalade scrub followed by an energizing massage using smooth pebbles wrapped in fragrant bags soaked in warm oil. Clarins combined the sense of smell with touch by providing an energizing leg treatment called “Path to Renewal” which used aromatherapy to balance and restore energy. Sweet Dreams Mohonk Mountain House brought their team from the New Paltz, New York spa to teach the media how to get some relaxing “shut eye.” Their treatment called “Solutions for Modern Living: Attainable Sleep!” allowed guests to recognize the fundamentals of falling asleep, including relaxation, aromatherapy, a soak and massage. Also emphasizing good sleep techniques, Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat showcased its “The Australian Spirit of Sound” treatment which opened with a brief yet powerful meditation. High-quality basalt stones were placed on key areas of the body, followed by a fusion of massage techniques, choreographed to carefully selected Australian music and sounds of nature. Purple was a popular theme throughout the event, and Aspira The Spa played into this theme with their “Indigo Journey” which featured a balancing massage, using chromatherapy and wood violet-infused oil.
