THE ANNUAL ISPA MEDIA EVENT, now in its 18th year, once again drew top journalists from some of the most respected media outlets— The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, ABC News, NBC, Marie Claire, Martha Stewart Living, CNN Money, Conde Nast Traveler, to name a few— to experience and review the latest treatments and products from this year’ s select group of spas and sponsors.
This year’ s event received expansive media coverage and garnered more than 100 online articles and countless print mentions, all highlighting ISPA Media Event sponsors. Overall, the media coverage earned over 330 million impressions across the globe.
Aside from featuring the latest trends and treatments, the event also highlighted ISPA’ s Big 5 Statistics from the ISPA 2012 U. S. Spa Industry Study. The survey, conducted by Pricewaterhouse- Coopers( PwC) annually, provides the latest industry data on five key areas: revenue, spa visits, number of spa locations, total employment in the industry and square footage. The media rely on quality research for their stories, so the consistent launch of research proved to be relevant and timely. The full study was released in September to ISPA members, and will be continually referenced by the media throughout the year.
Network with the Media The ISPA Media Event lived up to its reputation of being the premiere media event of the spa industry, attracting both new and repeat sponsors and journalists. The media looks to this event as their chance to write stories about the spa industry. This is an important event for the industry to drive the value and importance of spas.
