Bob ’ s encouragement got her to think about business possibilities , and so she eventually named her food truck after her beloved mentor .
“ He was like the dad I never had , and my inspiration ,” said Shannon .
At first , the idea of starting a food business was “ pretty scary ,” she said , having spent most of her adult life in the medical field , and having never done her own business before .
“ So it was completely different for me ,” she said of the new venture .
But her husband , Kevin Barron , also - like his dad - an appreciator of good cooking , supported his wife ’ s business ambitions .
“ You just gotta go for it ,” he told her , and so they bought the truck in December of 2022 .
Next was to perfect the menu . “ I needed to figure out how to make the perfect burger that no one else had ,” she said . So she got busy creating her own unique sauce and seasoning recipes , taking care to maximize flavor , quality and originality . “ I think all my stuff is uniquely seasoned ,” she said . “ And you ’ ll never find frozen patties on my truck .” She opened the truck in March of 2023 , and word got around and now Bob ’ s Grab & Go is a year-round crowd pleaser at many events and locations across the county , including the annual Eubank Fourth of July celebration , Dollar Stores at the corners of Hwy . 39 / Hwy . 452 and Hwy . 39 / Hwy . 70 , at Ross Dress For Less / Bealls , at factories including TTAI , and many other spots .

Eagle Mobile Kitchen
The patriotic red , white and blue style paint job of the Eagle Mobile Kitchen will be easy to spot around town this year at venues like the Master Musicians Festival and the Cumberland Grill .
Delicious food and entrepreneurial experience is always a good combination when it comes to food service success , and Eagle Mobile Kitchen ’ s popular menu and dedicated team of entrepreneurs has plenty of both .
Kyle Varney , Division Manager for Whitaker Restaurant Group , has many years of experience when it comes to day-to-day food service operations , and for the past six years he has been with Whitaker Restaurant Group , overseeing operations at some of successful restaurant entrepreneur Mike Whitaker ’ s businesses .
Folks across much of Kentucky are familiar with Whitaker ’ s successes , among them six Hardee ’ s locations , a Wings and Rings franchise in Somerset , and Cumberland Grill overseeing beautiful Lake Cumberland on South U . S . 27 near Burnside , in the location where Guthrie ’ s used to be .
It was in summer of 2024 that Whitaker and Varney made the first outings with the Eagle Mobile Kitchen , with successful gigs at Master Musicians Festival and the Lake Cumberland Air Show , among other events and venues .
“ This year our goal is to be involved with all the festivals and events going on throughout the county ,” said Kyle .
The popularity of Eagle Mobile Kitchen led to further developments with its menu .
“ We ’ ve actually just recently rebranded and made a brand new menu ,” said Kyle . “ We are doing smashburgers ,” he said , adding that ’ s what the new menu is centered around .
As the name suggests , smashburgers are burgers that have been flattened , allowing for a quicker cook time and cooked in a way that enhances the taste . One of the best-selling menu items as of late with Eagle Mobile Kitchen has been the Midwest
