Back on track: Sportsman’ s Park West gets fresh start for runners, walkers, community spirit The Parks and Recreation Department Project Team is excited to announce the successful renovation of the walking and running track at Sportsman’ s Park West, a beloved local amenity that serves athletes, families and fitness enthusiasts of all ages.
Approved as part of the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Repairs and Maintenance Projects within the department’ s operating budget, this revitalization project enhances function and experience for the entire community. Nestled in the heart of Sportsman’ s Park West and home to the Port St. Lucie Athletic Association( PSLAA), this track surrounds one of two fullsized football fields and continues to support the organization’ s vibrant youth football program.
But the track is more than just a border to the gridiron. It’ s a daily destination for walkers, joggers and runners who rely on a safe, accessible and well-maintained space to stay active. The renovation focused on restoring the surface integrity of the regulation high school track, improving drainage and ensuring a smoother, safer experience for all users.
This investment reflects the City’ s commitment to maintaining high-quality recreational infrastructure that promotes health, wellness and community connection. This track always has been a community gem and the department is proud to bring it back to top condition for everyone, from competitive athletes to casual strollers.
As the track welcomes back daily users and weekend warriors, the City encourages residents to take full advantage of the improved facility. Whether you ' re lacing up your running shoes for interval training or taking a peaceful morning walk, the new and improved Sportsman’ s Park West track is ready to meet you where you are and help you go further. www.
