Supporting the City ' s strategy through department workshops
The Office of Strategic Initiatives and Innovation helped facilitate the Information Technology and Planning and Zoning Department Strategic Plan Workshops in October. The workshops provided an opportunity for the team to review the FY 2025-26 Strategic Plan, refine performance measures and align departmental goals with City priorities.
The team also explored new ways to communicate its impact through storytelling, reinforcing its vital role in shaping the City’ s future. The collaborative spirit throughout the day reflected the department’ s strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. The strong teamwork and shared vision that emerged from workshops underscore the City’ s dedication to strategic excellence and resident-focused service delivery.
Youth Council ' s Naturally PSL subcommittee kicks off
The Port St. Lucie Youth Council ' s Naturally PSL subcommittee is dedicated to advancing the City’ s environmental stewardship efforts through creativity, care and community actions. The subcommittee is part of the Youth as Solutions program by the National Youth Leadership Council, a technical assistance grant secured by the Office of Strategic Initiatives and Innovation and the Communications Department. The team will help guide a year-long environmental stewardship project, facilitated and advised by City staff.
In the first kick-off meeting, the team reflected on the group’ s shared purpose, identity and values, and identified environmental challenges in our community, including loss of trees, litter, water quality, etc. Over the coming months, the group will continue to participate in leadership training, community research and design a service project to be implemented in 2026.

Kate Parmelee and Sabrina McLeod were honored to be guest speakers during Florida City Week at Village Green Elementary and Windmill Point Elementary schools, where they engaged with approximately 250 students. www. CityofPSL. com
