Median improvements implemented on Airoso Boulevard
Public Works completed median improvements on Airoso Boulevard, stretching between Whitmore Drive and Carter Avenue. This project will enhance overall safety while maintaining safe leftturn conditions and partial access for drivers. Key improvements include the installation of raised median islands, traffic separators, milling and resurfacing of the roadway, along with updated pavement markings and signage.
Public Works engages Sawgrass Lakes Community on upcoming projects
In a recent engagement, Public Works attended a Homeowners Association( HOA) meeting at Sawgrass Lakes to discuss the anticipated roundabout project at the intersection of Paar Drive and Darwin Boulevard. The meeting provided a platform for the City to inform residents about various initiatives underway, including updates on treatments planned for Sawgrass Lake.
The project was designed to support the community with concerns about access and traffic safety. The project uses right-turn movements followed by U-turns, which are safer than direct left turns. These U-turn movements play a crucial role in reducing the risk of accidents, contributing to a safer driving environment for all.
The session was an excellent opportunity for staff to connect with the community, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Residents were eager to learn about the developments and posed insightful questions that underscored their commitment to the neighborhood ' s growth and well-being.
The City values its partnership with the Sawgrass Lakes community and is dedicated to maintaining open lines of communication. By working together, we aim to enhance the quality of life for all residents. We look forward to continuing this dialogue and ensuring transparency in our ongoing and future projects. www.
