Lunch and learn provides info on Love Your Block
On Sept. 18, the City of Port St. Lucie, through the Love Your Block program, brought neighbors together for a vibrant lunch and learn at the Parks Edge POA Clubhouse.
Volunteers from Naturally PSL and the UF / IFAS Extension Master Gardener Volunteer program shared expert tips on planting native trees and plants, inspiring residents to beautify their yards with Floridafriendly greenery. Residents organized a plant and tree giveaway, some even donated their own plants for a lively raffle! Master Gardeners joined in by offering four gardening books as prizes.
What began as a simple way to boost attendance turned into a heartwarming moment of connection, laughter and learning. Now, the Parks Edge community is looking to revive the Quarterly Best Yard Award, a celebration of homeowners who take pride in creating beautiful, well-maintained outdoor spaces. Together, these efforts are growing more than gardens; they’ re growing community spirit.
