Traffic signal timing improvements at Fairgreen and Crosstown
The City improved traffic signal timing at Fairgreen Road and Crosstown Parkway to enhance safety and traffic flow.
Traffic signal timing consultant David Champoux of Mead & Hunt collaborated with Rhythm Engineering, which manages the City’ s adaptive signal system, to develop a special time-of-day plan for the intersection. The timing plan provides a second westbound left turn service each cycle to ensure the westbound left turn bay is continuously serviced. In doing this, the team also continued adjusting signal timing to other movements at the intersection to ensure the signal was operating as efficiently as possible.
These improvements are designed to support safer travel and more efficient movement through the intersection.
Community Conversations continue
Public Works continues to participate in the citywide Community Conversations, helping residents learn more about projects completed through the Half-Cent Sales Tax program.
Staff also share information about projects that could move forward if voters approve the sales tax. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss the work being done by Public Works, answer questions and hear directly from residents.
Public Works looks forward to continuing these conversations and keeping the community informed.
