New programs at the Community Center
Art Class with Marta will teach watercolor painting, a popular art form using water-based paints. This class will cover various techniques, from beginner basics to more advanced styles, explore different subjects and approaches to watercolor painting. Start date is Saturday, June 7 in the Tot Room. Class for those 16 and older is 10 a. m., and the class for 8-15 year olds begins at noon.
Stretch & Balance Barre Class is a gentle, yet powerful barre class designed to improve your flexibility, posture and body control. This weekly class combines ballet-inspired movements with deep stretching and balance exercises to help you feel longer, stronger and more centered. It is perfect for all levels, and no dance experience is necessary. Start date is June 7.
Spanish Music Together starts soon! Canta y Baila Conmigo is 4 p. m. Tuesdays from July 8-Aug. 12. Cost is $ 150.
Junior Basketball held evaluations May 3 and a draft May 10. Practices began May 27 and games begin June 7.
Adult softball seasons began May 16.
Xtreme Hip Hop Step with Charlette English-Wright is a high-energy workout that blends hip-hop, R & B and Caribbean music with step aerobics, cardio and strength moves to boost endurance, stamina and mood. Come sweat, smile and groove your way to fitness! Classes are 9:30 a. m. on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, starting June 14. Cost is $ 30 a month and $ 20 for drop-ins. Big Summer Blowout, a free last-day-of school event for high school students, was held June 2 at Minsky Gym.
Summer Camp kicks off June 9, bringing eight weeks of adventure for approximately 500 eager campers! With six sites and a newly hired crew of 96 staff members, the summer is set to be a blast. From thrilling activities to endless friendships, the summer camp promises to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Fitness Zumba instructor Suzy made Cinco de Mayo extra special this year.
With vibrant decorations and a festive atmosphere, Suzy led the class dressed in colorful traditional attire, inspiring everyone to join in the fun. The energy was infectious as they danced to a mix of upbeat Latin rhythms, incorporating special dance moves that celebrated the essence of the holiday. Laughter filled the room, making it a memorable day for all as they moved and grooved together, embracing the joy of community and the celebration of togetherness!
