2026 annual Safety Council Awards of Palm Beach County
Risk Management and several other departments were awarded with a recognition at the Safety Council Awards of Palm Beach County.
The City was recognized for the following:
Citywide awards
• Worker Safety Merit award: Risk Management Department Special recognitions
• Safety Training practices: Candace Capone, Office of Management and Budget
• Safety in the workplace: William Montgomery, Facilities Maintenance Department
• Special recognition for the Beat the Heat Campaign for Heat Stress Prevention: Ella Gilbert, Dee Tyler, Angie Munoz and Jeff Power, Risk Management
• Identifying and neutralizing a fire hazard: Carmen Capezzuto, Neighborhood Services
• Special recognition for department-wide safety protocol: Capt. Michelle Steele, Police Department
These recognitions reflect the strong safety culture across multiple departments and the collaborative work being done to improve employee safety and risk prevention.
