Emergency Management hosts tri-annual meeting
The Port St . Lucie Office of Emergency Management ( OEM ) recently hosted its tri-annual Emergency Management team meeting for local stakeholders and members of the City ’ s Emergency Operations Center ( EOC ) activation staff .
Roberto McCausland and Edgar Ruiz were invited as guest speakers to speak to the group about their experiences that as members of the South Florida All-Hazards Incident Management Team ( AHIMT ) that responded to responding to multiple incidents , including the Surfside Building Collapse and Hurricane Ian .
Following the presentation , the OEM and EOC activation staff discussed new updates to local emergency management plans , as well as other planning efforts that have been taking place for the City to best support the community and residents .
The OEM continues to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout our community , region and state ( such as the South Florida AHIMT ) that can be used for assistance in the event of a future disaster that could affect Port St . Lucie . We thank our local stakeholders and EOC activation staff for attending and learning about complex disaster response .
