Love Your Block site visit
The Strategic Initiatives and Innovation Team was proud to join the Communications Team and help support the site visit from the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University and participate in planning for Year 2 of the City’ s participation in the Love Your Block Program.
The SII team supported the City’ s application and provides ongoing leadership and support for the City’ s partnership with the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins and Bloomberg Philanthropies to gain further skills and insights to improve services to residents and deliver greater impact. The City team is deeply grateful for this outstanding philanthropic support and partnership.
Preparing for the 2026 Florida legislative session
The team is preparing to support the City’ s priorities in the 2026 Florida Legislative session, which kicks off in January.
This month, representatives from various City departments, including Sabrina McLeod of the Strategic Initiatives and Innovation Team, attended the Florida League of Cities 2025 Legislative Conference to finalize its legislative platform for all Florida’ s cities. The City is grateful to the Florida League of Cities for its continued advocacy on behalf of local governments.
As we approach the state legislative session, we look forward to working with the members of the Port St. Lucie legislative delegation, including Sen. Gayle Harrell, Sen. Erin Grall, Rep. Toby Overdorf and Rep. Dana Trabulsy on issues important to Port St. Lucie residents.
Recent grant awards
City departments work collaboratively through the Grants and Advocacy Team led by the Strategic Initiatives and Innovation team to support funding for City priorities in alignment with the Strategic Plan. The following grants were recently awarded:
• National Endowment for the Arts- Grants for Arts Projects: Funding in the amount of $ 30,000 for the 2025 International Fest showcasing the diversity, cultural backgrounds, heritage and experiences of the region. www. CityofPSL. com
