Construction to begin on Wilderness Trail
The City awarded a contract Dec. 1 for construction on Wilderness Trail, following City Council approval. Construction is anticipated to begin in January, with a contract duration of approximately 240 days. This project was supported in part by a $ 500,000 Recreational Trails grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Planned amenities include:
• Approximately 2.1 miles of 10-foot-wide multimodal concrete trail
• Combined restroom / pavilion area,
• New landscaping
Wilderness Trail is located between The Saints Golf Course and The Port District, creating a vital connection between the two areas and expanding opportunities for walking, biking and outdoor recreation.
