Hello Wadi! Please can we meet you?
I am a 22 year old Nigerian from Adamawa state. I
am a graduate of Covenant University. I am the third
out of five children. I am a passionate development
worker, writer and speaker.
Can you run us through a typical day in the life of
Wadi?
Doing my work, reading a book or watching a
documentary, going online for formal and informal
stuff etc
What will you be caught doing on a day when
there is NO WORK?
I will be caught reading a book, writing, talking to
family and close friends or having personal time.
You are most known for the Wadi Ben Hirki
Foundation. Please give us a summary about the
initiative, what brought about the idea and where
you are today as an organisation?
It is a registered non-profit organization that runs:
Street-to-school, GirlsNotWives, LITMOW (Love In
The Midst Of War) and SHEROES. The main reason
for the organization is to rehabilitate the hurting
especially women and children. We are currently
carrying out activities in different communities.

What was your vision while starting and can you
proudly say today that you’ve accomplished most
of it?
My vision is to make the world a better and more
sustainable place starting from my immediate
community. I am gradually doing that.
Humanitarian service is definitely one that is
faced with a lot of challenges. Can you share with
us some of these challenges and how you’ve
worked over them?
The major challenges will definitely be fund-raising,
publicity and multi-tasking.
My team and I are gradually working on overcoming
them.
Did you receive any form of discouragement from
family or friends when you chose to start this?
The people who really matter to me supported me
right from the beginning.
What are some of your regrets so far as to what
you wish you should have done earlier or shouldn’t
have done?
I have no regrets. I have learned from whatever
mistakes I have made which have helped me become
a better person.
