ENTREPRENUERSHIP & INNOVATION HUB

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub ( eiHub ) plays an integral role to the School ’ s commitment to responsible management education and contributes to the objectives in a number of ways . The eiHub nurtures aspiring student entrepreneurs through providing coaching and training , research and engagement with the industry . The eiHub elevates awareness on key social issues through workshops for students and staff on building scalable and sustainable startups that can solve the social , environmental and economic challenges facing the world .

The Youth Start-up Bootcamps and eiHub Challenge are initiatives to develop the creative capacity of aspiring student entrepreneurs to build scalable and sustainable startups and social enterprises to solve real societal problems , particularly in reference to the United Nations ’ Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs ).
Youth Start-up Bootcamp : Sustainable Initiatives ( 2019 )
Over an entire weekend , participants spent more than 30 gruelling hours to ideate , validate and fi nally pitch ideas and solutions to tackle existing community and societal challenges . Engaged with like-minded peers , entrepreneurs , industry professionals , and mentors who provided encouragement , and valuable advice as well as realistic feedback , participants learnt to develop and apply entrepreneurial skill sets in context of real-world societal issues and concerns .
Young Techpreneur Bootcamp – SDG Edition ( 2019 )
In collaboration with Petrosains , the Discovery Centre and Monash Future Students Unit , eiHub invited 60 students from 2 local high schools to a 2-day workshop held at Monash University Malaysia and Petrosains Discovery Centre . These teenage participants were introduced to Design Thinking , Lean Prototyping , Science Communication and Sustainability issues that are impacting the world . Both schools ’ head of administration provided praising feedback that students found the program and experience exciting and rewarding .
Youth Start-up Bootcamp : Future Minds – Post Pandemic Innovation ( 2020 )
Targeting youths between 18 – 30 years of age , that year ’ s virtual event centered on ‘ Future Minds - Post Pandemic Innovation ’, revolving around the challenges and disruptions brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic . 35 participants , from diff erent multidisciplinary backgrounds across 5 diff erent universities presented 17 ideas in total . Highlight of the fi rst fully online eiHub Youth Start-up Bootcamp was when the team with the 3 best judged pitched ideas were awarded with the Entrepreneur and Innovation Jumpstart Funding Award , Free Legal Advisory Sessions from a renown Legal Firm , a Networking Session with a Nominated Youth Start-up Bootcamp Hero , and an assortment of gift-cards and merchandise . eiHub Challenge : Ideas for Tomorrow ( 2020 )
The eiHub Challenge was designed to develop and inspire individuals to create viable solutions to challenges in today ’ s fast evolving and disruptive environment . Held twice a year , 30 individuals step up to the challenge to create viable ideas to solve existing problems surrounding issues of Covid-19 , like personal safety , contact tracing , and socialising . Over the course of 3 weeks , participants joined weekly 1-hour entrepreneurial preparatory workshops . The challenge culminated in a Final Pitch session where participants presented their ideas to a panel of judges , comprising educators , industry experts , and entrepreneurs .
