The School of Business has a strong and ongoing relationship with alumni through the Monash Malaysia Business Alumni Chapter . The alumni chapter promotes responsible management and their activities contribute to a number of the SDGs through the mentoring of young professionals and at-risk youths ( SDG SDG 4 Quality Education & SDG 5 Gender Equality ), and contribution to charities to support underprivileged people ( SDG 1 No Poverty ).

Mentoring for professional development Thrive 2.0 ( 2019 ) & Thrive 3.0 ( 2020 )
Thrive is a three-month alumni mentoring program with the aim of empowering young Monash alumni to achieve personal and professional growth while encouraging contribution to the communities . The program matches business alumni with industry mentors ranging from c-suite executives , start-up leaders and younger managers . The program has been a success and has seen many iterations and improvements introduced since its inception in 2017 . And the 2020 pandemic did not damper their success , as the program was executed virtually .
Mentoring at-risk youths > Dreamweaver , 2020
MMBAC initiated a virtual mentoring program that aimed to improve the livelihoods of students aged between 15 to 17 who have been forcibly displaced from their home countries . The program matched alumni mentors with students , and was conducted over 4 consecutive weekends from October - November 2020 . The program was jointlyconducted with IDEAS Academy .
In solidarity with Gig workers # MYDeliveryHeroes , 2020
Business alumni , Radhika Chelliah and Charis Wong started a kindness movement for Malaysians to support and be in solidarity with delivery riders and local food and beverage ( F & B ) businesses during the Covid-19 lockdown that was implemented in early 2020 . The movement called on Malaysians to purchase meals for food delivery riders as a thank you gesture and tag their stories on instagram using the hashtag # MYDeliveryHeroes . The movement also raised over 270 reusable face masks in donations for delivery riders , as a sustainable initiative to protect the environment during a global pandemic .
