Guest Speakers
In 2019 and 2020 , over 45 guest speakers engaged with students and staff in the School of Business , with speakers drawn from a broad spectrum of industries , government and academia , including both local and international speakers . Through the Responsible Education Series , the School promotes awareness and discussion among teaching staff and students about the importance of incorporating responsible management and SDGs into our curriculum .
Empowerment and the Refugee crisis : Role of social enterprises Sujauddin Karimuddin , Co-Founder & Director of Elom Empowerment
Mr Sujauddin Karimuddin works mainly for the Rohingya refugees in community development , social and cultural integration programs for the past 19 years in different country contexts . The Elom Empowerment Community Centre was set up in Kuala Lumpur as a community centre to off er English classes and computer training to Rohingya children and youth , aiming to support them to become active members of society . Suja is also the executive director of the Arakan Rohingya Council in Malaysia .
Partnerships & Prospects : UN Fellow and Monash Alumni Maanishaa Jessani , Fellow at the UN Offi ce of the Secretary General ’ s Envoy on Youth
Maanisha Jessani , a Monash Business Alumni . spoke about her journey in pursuing a career in sustainability . With a desire to contribute to sustainable development , she explored partnerships with private and intergovernmental sectors at KPMG and the Division for Sustainable Development Goals at the UN Headquarters in New York City . Maanisha spoke about her experience as a fellow for the UN Offi ce of the Secretary General ’ s Envoy on Youth , where she currently supports the betterment of her generation by fostering partnerships that empower a sustainable future .
