Language and Literacy through Family Learning
Inculcating the Joy of Reading underpins our curriculum at Pristine, and we have always been encouraging parents to get first-hand experience of authors and illustrators through ‘Meet the Author’ opportunities in Dubai. Further, these are planned-opportunities to manifest the impact of Possibilities, one of our key Curriculum Drivers that fortify all learning.
Many students of the Junior School attended the workshop- Hugless Douglas and Other Delights by one of UK's best-loved author-illustrators, David Melling, the creator of “Hugless Douglas”, which is one of the focus stories of our FS curriculum this year- the same Hugless , the huggable, lovable brown bear, who delighted them with his adventures! It was fun to join David and Douglas to discover the perfect bear hug!
World Water Day - learning for life!
World Water Day activities in Key stage 1 was proof of an overwhelming awareness established in all children as they carried out discussions and write-ups to pledge that water is the most precious thing on earth that cannot be taken for granted. It was a day of learning for life as the young students once again took time to think about how important water is in our everyday lives and how to be ‘water-saver’ and not a ‘water-waster’!
