Senior School
At this point Miss Kalgi was screaming at us and telling us that we need to hurry and have our lunch. After the course I ran straight to the top for…THE ZIP LINE!!
It was a riveting and frightful experience and I loved every second of it, but the most disconcerting part of it was the thought that I might miss my lunch, karthik, Sheen, Omar, Alisher and I all ran straight to the food area and had a delightful meal. After 10 minutes we were faced with a troubling thought, “How are we going rafting on a full stomach?!?”
Breaking waves
After relaxing for a good 15 minutes, we were sent to the briefing room where we were taught the dos and don’ts of rafting and rafting safety. After the briefing we were sent directly to the life guard retrieval area where we put on our life guards and helmet(s) and then we met our guide, at that point my group and I realized how scared we were.
For the first 2 minutes we practiced paddling around and we eventually reached our course. Unfortunately for my rag tag team of fellow C+ students we had a lot of bumps and fails during the course and Omar fell off the raft!! It was fun for the first 5 seconds, until we realized he went under the boat. Luckily we pulled him out and did the course two more times where we bumped into another group of students.
The Last Hooray
After spending the last hour in the pools and surf areas, we packed our things, bought a couple of souvenirs and exited Wadi Adventure Al-Ain. During the 2- hour- long bus ride my friends and I started reminiscing the wonderful day we had just spent by singing our loudest and most spirited school anthem. As we approached the school and departed from each other, I waited for my other friends and we walked home the city streets looked oh so beautiful at night. By the time I reached home it was 8:45, my throat was sore, legs tired, body exhausted and my feeble mind put at ease.
I ended my day with a hot bowl of Ramen.
