Hay acknowledges your efforts
Social media Face Book page, Great Things About Hay & It’s
People, is pleased to announce the winners of awards for
November and December, 2013. The page calls for nominations in
different categories each month, for community members to
nominate people and/or organisations for the award. The winner is
selected from a random number picker. Nominations can also be
dropped of at the Printed Post office, 194 Lachlan Street, or given
to Di Congdon.
November’s category was for Teacher; and while many local
teachers were nominated, Lilianna Aylett ‘s number was drawn out.
Mrs. Aylett has been a teacher at Hay War Memorial High School
for 29 years, starting out as a first year teacher. She teaches years
7 - 12 and is head maths teacher. Lilianna is married to David
Aylett and has three children Blake, Dean and Madeline and is very
happy in her position at the school. “There are a lot of positives,”
says Lilianna, “Our school has a lot to offer and has good HSC
results.”

Winner for December under 18 year old award is Brandon Burns.
Brandon was nominated many times. One nomination read as
follows: “I would like to nominate Brandon Burns. A fantastic little
roll model. Always a smile and friendly hello to everyone, whether
he knows them or not. Offers a help in hand to all in need and even
the ones that don't. Would never walk through a door first if there
was someone behind him, he's that sort of kid. You will more often
then not see him jumping in giving a hand to any charity event in
