Bowling for Brook A fundraiser for Brook Higgins, held at the Hay Bowling Club, attracted bowlers of varying ages and talents. A wonderful opportunity for kids to try their hand with bowls, the fundraiser will help Brook attend her dance trip to the USA in January 2014. Brook, and her mum Stacey, will be travelling with the ‘Rock the Block’ dance studio. The tour includes workshops, a demonstration at a Lakers basketball game, as well as meeting cheer leaders and a performance at Disneyland. The dancers will visit California, Hollywood and Las Vegas. What the kids lacked in style, they made up for with enthusiasm. Benjamin Grace-Wade, 6 years old, used the ‘flipper’ to great advantage. Tyler Higgins, Brooks sister, a Year 12 student at HWMHS, says the response to the fundraiser is fantastic. Jeannie Deacon with daughter Chloe and niece Tyler Higgins, enjoyed playing social bowls. Chloe was celebrating her birthday in “five hours”.
