Economic confidence building with new business’ opening A more relaxed way to shop Shopping out of town can sometimes be a rushed experience and items bought on impulse. Shopping locally allows the consumer a chance to go away and decide, or bring in items already in the closet for colour matching, without having to lug a pile of clothes all over the countryside. A new boutique in Hay, may solve a ladies dress shopping dilemma; Lashae Harmen has opened the doors of ‘Blue Raven Boutique’, situated between the Wok in Hay and the Riverine Grazier. Lashae’s clothing lines are suitable for every occasion and selective buying means there is little chance of turning up to an event in the same dress as everyone else. The shop also sells shoes, handbags and jewellery, so customers can get a complete outfit in one place. Open Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm. Tantrum Hair and Beauty Practically every little girl plays hair dresser at some stage in their childhood but only a few will take up the profession and even fewer of them will then go on to own their own salon. Casey Jacka is one of those few. As a little girl she dreamed of becoming a hair dresser: or an astronaut (her kindy teacher put that dream away). Casey worked at a local hair salon after school for two years before starting her apprenticeship in 2007. Once qualified, Casey had steady employment in her chosen field, but her dream was not yet complete. She wanted her own salon. After much planning and hard work, the dream is finally reality. ’Tantrum Hair and Beauty’, Casey’s own salon, opened in October. Situated next door to the Laundromat, the old Home matters shop now has a chic new look. Casey offers a range of beauty services including: Silk eyelash extensions, waxing, brow and lash tints, spray tans, facials and nail care services.
