Presidents Day at the Hay Services Club Fifty six bowlers from throughout the Riverina, including a District team, enjoyed a beautiful spring day on the Greens for the Hay Services Club’s Presidents Day bowls. Sue Patterson, Debbie Lumely and Beryl Porter ‘manned’ the hydration station. Neville Reid congratulates the winners of the spider. To enter the spider players donate a ‘couple of dollars’ and try to get their bowl closest to a big rubber spider in the centre of the green. Proceeds from the fun competition are donated to charity. Players donned sunscreen, hats and glasses before play, which shows the ‘sun smart message’ is reaching everyone. Competitors also remembered to keep up their fluid intake and the ladies were happy to keep stock on hand, including water. Leeton and District Team were the victors on the day with 41 points. J.
