Empowering women
Edythe Anderson’s nephew visited Hay recently,
with a bus load of lovely ladies. Richard
Grainger is married to Edythe’s niece Casey,
and is filming a documentary called ‘Cultural
Lens on Women to Vote Bus trip from Canberra
to Adelaide,” for the Australian Migrant and
Refugee Women’s Alliance (AMaRWA).
AMaRWA is one of the six National Women’s
Alliances that is funded by the Federal Office for
the Status of Women to raise concerns, views
and circumstances of migrant and refugee
women; to inform Federal Government Policies
that impact their lives. It is the peak advocacy
body for migrant and refugee women in Australia
led by the Network of Immigrant and Refugee
Women Australia Inc (NIRWA). They raise
concerns and aspirations of Australian Migrant
and Refugee Women to government.
