On Friday 16th August 45 Hay Public School (HPS) students travelled to Deniliquin for the district PSSA Athletics Carnival. Hay won the PSSA shield for the ninth consecutive year. The event produced two district champions in Brait Headon and Emily Headon and Hay won all four of the relays. Qualifying students will be off to Albury on the 30th of August to compete for a spot in the Riverina side for the State athletics carnival to be held at Homebush in October. HPS has 13 individual students competing in Albury: Brait Headon, Emily Headon, Ben Marshall, Lillan Ives, Charlie Masters, Noah Hey, Sam Curtis, Ben Caughey, Emma Johnston, Delilah Crighton, Hugh Crightion, Charly Moorhouse and Daniela Gargaro. As well as four relay teams which are: Junior girls - Charlee Masters, Daisy Barnes, Janae Winzar, Delilah Crighton. Junior boys - Brait Headon, Hugh Crighton, Sam Curtis, Ben Caughey, Senior girls - Grace Nisbet, Lillian Ives, Emily Headon, Holly Headon and Senior boys - Noah Hey, Ben Marshall, Darcy Cullenward, Kevin Cai. 21
