Living Dinosaur Donation When the National Dinosaur Museum came to visit Hay they brought fossils, books, models and a live dinosaur with them. The Wollemi Pine tree is the only living (tree) dinosaur and a presentation was made to Councillor Roger McGrath of one of these treasures. A memorial plaque was also given with the tree; it is called a tracing plaque and kids can put paper over the metal and colour with pencil to get a sketch of the plaque. The Dinosaurs Down Under exhibition had hands on experiences for all who visited. Giant bones and meteor chunks, huge plush and animated dinosaurs were on display and enthralled local school children. A talk was also given to students by a palaeontologist who explained how bones and fossils are found and excavated. Huge bones and pieces of meteorite. School of the Air, Hay Public, St. Mary’s Students and the public enjoyed the Dinosaur experience. Some students were surprised when they discovered they had been holding and smelling dinosaur poo, (fossilised of course). 19
