The mission statement for Intermediate School District 728 is to “ educate , inspire and empower our diverse learners , to shape their futures , to accomplish their dreams and to contribute positively to our local and global communities .”
The school district serves more than 14,000 early childhood through 12thgrade students and provides community education and lifelong learning programs for more than 50,000 residents in the cities and communities surrounding Rogers , Elk River , Otsego and Zimmerman .
The district , the eighth-largest in Minnesota with 20 total schools , has 10 elementary buildings , six middle schools and four high schools . The district also hosts science , technology , engineering and math ( STEM ) programs at Rogers Elementary School and Salk Middle School in Elk River .
ISD 728 is among the highest-achieving districts in the state . Students consistently meet or exceed state standards in math , science and
