Foundation. Just hearing the word sometimes can be the easiest or hardest product in any girl’s makeup routine. How do we find the right shade? Or consistency? What if we have oily skin or dry skin, or somewhere in the middle? How much will it cost? The questions are never ending, and not to mention stressful!
I've had problems with foundations for years. That's right, YEARS. Even as a makeup artist today I still have some slight difficulty finding the right foundations for my wide range of clients. I used to love drugstore foundations, mainly because those were the ones I was able to afford at the time. But there are a few problems with drugstore foundations, from them oxidizing on the face (becoming darker after a few hours), having a pink/red undertone (which doesn't flatter a lot of people), or causing more breakouts (which is a negative for acne-prone people).
Now I did find a new drugstore foundation that many people have heard of or seen: Loreal’s Infallible Pro-Matte foundation. I matched my perfect shade, and it stood on all day…until it was humid one summer day and my face. Literally. Melted. Off. (Of course, when it’s extremely hot outside, foundation isn't realistic because ANYTHING will melt off your face) but the way that foundation came off was as if I didn't set it at all. No Bueno.
So recently I heard about Too Faced Born This Way foundation, and I watched a video that one of my favorite YouTubers, Diana Chantel, did where she recommended it for girls with oily, acne prone skin. I thought it was worth a try.
I went to Ulta and asked the beauty associate about the foundation, and she matched my perfect color: Warm Beige. Of course I didn't fall in love with it at first sight, due to my experiences with foundations I'm the type of person that needs to apply it myself and see how it sets before I love it.
