Where a case of dishonesty or plagiarism is suspected, the Board of Examiners will not come to a decision on the mark until the facts have been reasonably established. Where a case of cheating or plagiarism has been reasonably established, the Board of Examiners will judge the seriousness of the academic misdemeanour and exercise its discretion over the mark pertaining to the piece of work as appropriate to the case. On such occasions, the Board of Examiners will proceed in accordance with the University’s Code of Practice and Regulation governing Plagiarism and Academic Dishonesty as contained in the current edition of the University Calendar and any subsequent amendments to the Calendar. On those occasions where the judgement (referred to above) results in the student’s discontinuation from the programme, a report will be submitted to the Academic Secretary of the University.
