This course is available to applicants with current registration with the Dental Council , or equivalent professional body , to practice dentistry clinically . Students who have previously achieved the PgDip in Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry are able to apply to the MSc to complete the final research year .

Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry ( Top Up ) MSc

Contribute to the scientific discourse on aesthetic and restorative dentistry through extensive clinical research as you top-up your PgDip to a Master ’ s degree .
Explore a research area of your choice within your own practice , with full support and guidance from the University ’ s Dental Academy clinicians and researchers . Collect data and use current evidence within your own practice to solve clinical questions .
Embark on your own structured programme of research , evaluating existing studies and technological innovations and using them to inform your analysis . Learn from , and network with , experienced registered clinicians , developing your own new perspectives , evaluating your practice objectively , and adding to the conversation on dental practice advancement . CONTACT TIME
Most timetabled teaching will take place at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy during the day , on a Friday or Saturday . Clinical placements will take place at one of Solent NHS Trust ’ s facilities from Monday to Friday . Guest lectures may be scheduled outside normal teaching hours .
