In this issue, we highlight what is considered the second largest economy in Eastern Europe, after Russia, POLAND. Located in a strategic point in Europe, with a population of around 39.9 million inhabitants and a GDP per capita of 17,270 USD (EIU data - 2022), this country has become an important platform for other markets, such as the Germany.
Although the Polish industry is quite diversified, it is in a period of energy and digital transition, specifically wind energy, R&D and digital automation.
In 2020, due to the covid-19 pandemic, Poland's economy suffered a contraction of around 2% (according to EIU data). In 2021 it managed to recover and its GDP grew by 6.8%, but in 2022 there was a slight slowdown of 4.9%. For 2023, growth of around 0.7% is estimated.
