IMPORTS
According to Comtrade, imports from Poland registered a value of 335 billion USD in 2021 (255 billion USD in 2020). The five main groups of imported products were Machinery and Apparatus (25.4%), Common Metals (11.5%), Chemical Products (9.6%), Vehicles and Other Transport Material (9.4%). %) and Plastics and Rubber (7.9%).
According to Comtrade, Poland's top five suppliers in 2021 were Germany (21.1%), China (14.8%), Russia (6.0%), Italy (5.0 %) and the Netherlands (4.1%). These countries together represented 50.9% of the value of imports.
EXPORTS
According to Comtrade, Polish exports registered a value of 318 billion USD in 2021 (254 billion USD in 2020). The five main groups of exported products were Machinery and Apparatus (25.1%), Vehicles and Other Transport Material (11.3%), Common Metals (11.0% of the total), Chemical Products (7 .1%) and Plastics and Rubber (7.0%).
According to Comtrade, Poland's top five customer markets in 2021 were Germany (28.6%), Czechia (6.0%), France (5.7%), the United Kingdom (5.1%) and Italy (4.4%). These countries together represented 49.8% of the value of exports.
TRADE BALANCE WITH PORTUGAL
In 2021, according to INE, Poland was the 10th customer of Portuguese exports of goods with a share of 1.4% in total, while with regard to Portuguese imports, Poland occupies the 10th position with a share of 1.8%. Between 2017 and 2021, national exports to Poland grew by an average of 10.2% and imports by 16.2%. The trade balance of goods was unfavorable for our country, having presented a deficit of 595 million euros in 2021.
